Where FishVerify is genuinely better
The regulations checker. Identify a fish and FishVerify tells you whether it is in season, whether you may keep it, and the size and bag limits that apply where you are standing. For anyone fishing unfamiliar states or coastlines, that is a genuinely useful feature and it can keep you out of trouble.
Global Fishing League does not do this. If checking legality at the water's edge is your main need, FishVerify is the better tool and it is worth saying so plainly.
Where Global Fishing League is better
The logbook, in two respects. First, catch logging is free rather than a paid tier — you can photograph a fish, keep the location and the timestamp, and build a history without paying anything.
Second, the depth of what gets recorded. FishVerify's Premium tier attaches marine weather and tides. Global Fishing League attaches 18 readings, including the water chemistry no consumer fishing app records — salinity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll and phytoplankton — plus swell, ocean currents and moon phase.

Which should you choose?
Choose FishVerify if your first question at the water is whether the fish is legal, and you fish across state lines or in unfamiliar regulatory waters.
